About the area The peninsula of Chalkidiki is divided into three smaller peninsulas or ‘legs’ - Kassandra, Sithonia and Mount Athos. The area is famous for its marvelous beaches with their deep blue-green waters, fine sand, lush vegetation and litter-free sea. The area is ideal for swimming, fishing, water sports and it is perfect for hiking through the pinewoods of the wider area. The entire area is a virgin ecosystem, while the thermal baths of Aghia Paraskevi (2.5 km away) are suitable for rheumatism or skin diseases. There is a daily, regular, bus service towards Polygyros, Nea Moudania and Thessaloniki. Medical coverage The
general hospital of Halkidiki is located in Polygyros (63km) and in about
100km distance, is the Diabalkanic medical center - a modern and highly
equipped hospital. In most of these villages the visitor can also find petrol stations, car service garages, banks, police stations, post offices and telecommunication offices.
