Editors Note

This beautiful property is the perfect retreat. Because of its proximity to the old town of Mystras which attracts thousands of visistors each year, it also has great rental potential. It would be great as the centre of alternative holidays offering activities like walking, climbing, trekking, painting, traditiona Greek cooking, olive picking, photography, Byzantine archeology, etc. The possibilities are endless.

About Mystras

Mystras was once a famous Byzantine city, built on a steep hill on the northern slopes of Mt. Taygetos, 6km NW of Sparta.

Because of its strategic position, it has been fought over by many armies and conquerors.

What remains today gives us a glimse of its glorious past: the castle on the top of the hill, several Byzantine churches and monasteries, the Palaces of the Mystras Despots (the last Byzantine Emperor was crowned there) and urban buildings.

Visit the Odysseus site of The Hellenic Ministry of Culture for more details on Mystras.
