Editors Note A resale property carefully maintained by its present owner. It makes an excellent holiday home for those who prefer to be in a quiet area, away from tourist resorts. There is a small farm nearby that provides fresh meat, cheese and eggs. Two excellent tavernas are within a 10 minutes walk There are several small coves in walking distance, where one can enjoy the clear sea and sun in privacy. The property, with its additional building allowance, provides a solid investment - viewing recommended. About Leros island Leros is one of the 12 islands of the Dodecanese - in the south east of Greece. The weather is particularly favourable, as it stays warm almost all year round. The breeze from the North (Meltemi) helps to moderate the heat in summer. Although the island of Leros is quite small (about 54 square kilometres which makes it easy to get around) it has very good facilities - the airport (domestic flights to Athens, Rhodes, Kos), a hospital, several dentists and a vet. Leros does not rely on tourism for income, so there is life even in winter! Most of the tavernas and other facilities are open from April/May to October. The flying dolphins and catamarans operate every day during this season but only intermittently outside it. However, the airport is open and the ferries run almost every day of the year. |
